FAQs

Do I need to call and make an appointment or can I just walk in?

Yes, you need to call to make an appointment. Walk-ins do NOT guarantee that you get an appointment. Angels Massage books out several weeks or even months in advance so it is always wise to book online or call ahead.

What is the cancellation policy?

You may call to cancel your appointment without charge prior to close of business day preceding your scheduled appointment. Same day cancellations will result in 50% charge of your service. If you fail to call or show (no call no show) for your service it will result in 100% charge of your service.

Do I really need to arrive 15 minutes early for my appointment?

Yes, we require that you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment, especially if this is your first time visiting our spa in which case there is initial paperwork to fill out so we can better serve your needs. Arriving on time without prior paperwork being completed may cut into your actual service time.

What if I arrive late to my appointment?

In this case your therapist will perform a more focused massage on problem areas that you discuss rather than an all-over massage. However, you will be charged full price for your service.

What is the full time length for each session?

Our services include 60 minutes or 90 minutes of hands on time. These times are only applicable when the client arrives to the spa in time for their service.

What should I wear in preparation for my appointment?

There is no dress code requirement.

Why do I need to fill out a medical intake form?

Medical intake forms are a legal requirement for massage therapy in the state of Tennessee. They inform our therapists about your current health condition, possible risks, medication, and general information needed to provide the accurate plan of care tailored just for you.

Can I choose to have a male or female therapist?

We have highly trained and licensed male and female therapists on staff, each with their given specialties. We can accommodate preferences on therapist, however it may limit your choice of service availability on any given day. In these cases, it’s best to call ahead to schedule your appointment.

Are there any rules of etiquette?

Cell phone use is prohibited during the service. Cell phones MUST be turned off or left on silent during your treatment. If you have to answer a call, the service will be stopped and the therapist will step out of the room until the call is ended. Noise level MUST be kept to a minimum in respect to the surrounding services. We do not allow smoking inside or within a 50-feet radius around our building.

How should I handle gratuities?

Gratuities are a common part of the spa experience. Gratuities can be given directly to the therapist or left at the front desk upon checkout. The normal range for gratuity is 15 - 25% of the total cost of the service.

I got a gift certificate, what is the procedure for redemption?

A gift certificate is an agreement between our spa and the purchaser to perform a service in a specific time frame based on availability. If you call a few days or the week before the gift certificate is set to expire our clinic may only have limited spots in which to perform your service if any. Our best advice is plan to redeem your gift certificate in a short time after receiving it so you don't run into any problems.

Do I have to get completely undressed for a massage?

No. You can undress down to your comfort level. The therapist will keep you properly covered at all times, and just revealing the areas that the therapist will be working on at that moment. In addition, the therapist will leave the room to give you a few minutes to undress and get under the sheets, so you will never be exposed to the therapist at any time.

Why is a credit card needed to hold an appointment?

Credit cards are used to reserve your appointment with Angels Massage. Since our spa can only take a limited number of appointments in a day, we hold a credit card and have a written cancellation policy with resulting fees. This is to discourage people from cancelling last minute, while other clients wanted that appointment time but were unable to schedule due to our previous obligation with you.

How often should I get a massage?

A lot of factors determine how often one should get a massage. On average, our clients receive massages 1-2 times per month. This increases if the client has a physical ailment they are trying to relieve. Massage, like any treatment, is not a one time occurrence to recovery. To see consistent results, even if it’s to decrease stress and relax, the treatments have to be on a consistent basis. Massage therapy is an important part of your lifestyle and should be considered just like sleep, diet, and exercise.
